Have to do the back yet but this will be for hand outs and placement at comic cons. Best place I've found to market with these. Book one I made a card and handed it out at the Mid Ohio Comic Con in 2012 in Columbus and sold lots of books! That was the first and so far only con I have attended as an artist on Artist Alley. It was fun but I did not make a lot of money on other stuff. I'm paying an artist who attends lots of these, even the SDCC, to deliver them to the events. Let's hope it pays off big time!

One of the persons responsible for my ebook education is a lady who lives in Spain and she has a wonderful blog on epublishing. Here she fills us in on iBooks for Mac and the Maverick OS. It would be nice to just send someone an epub file and have them click it and it opens in iBooks. As Liz says now you have to fill them in on Firefox plugins and other apps to get which probably means they will go do something else. http://www.pigsgourdsandwikis.com/2013/10/why-ibooks-for-mac-matters-goodbye-pdf.html
Mark's new ebook Cartoons Your Cat Doesn't Want You To See hit the top 20 seller list at Kindle in less than a day and has climbed to number 2 of the hot new releases list second only to the big kahuna cat Garfield himself. It's like I always say, "Cat books sell!" Time will tell if the book has staying power but this amazing launch paints a rosey future for Mark in the ebook market. It also gives Fun-E-Books Publishing some kudos for picking a winner. Not that it wasn't evident to all before now that Mark is a very funny fellow whose work is widely popular with cartoon fans everywhere! It was an easy choice for us! Check out our selection here! http://www.fun-e-bookspublishing.com/index.html Cool! Kindle now has automatic updating for ebooks. If there has been an improved version of the ebook you've previously purchased it will auto update it. Trosley's How To Draw Cartoon Cars, an ebook I created for the Troz was bungled on the first Kindle conversion the aggregator did which threw the TOC to the end of the book and messed with other CSS code. I ended up doing the conversion myself and redelivered it to Kindle but the one I had bought was not affected- until now. It now reads correctly! iTunes had this feature but it would notify you that there was a new version to download. Auto update is nicer I think behind the scenes though it would be nice to know that there was an update. Can't have everything I suppose. Or can we?
I always like to check the standings for the e-books on a daily and even hourly basis. They go up and down all the time and sometimes they appear in bunches on a page but today they are side by side in the top 30's. That's cool. Normally book two trails one for some reason. It's the better designed and crafted one so understandably I would like it to do well and showcase my talents in e-production. One was done with a simple free program called eCub. It's a good app for beginners and those who don't want to go that far down the rabbit hole of epub. Me, I'm right down their with Alice eating strange tea cakes and washing them down with bottles labeled 'Drink Me'. Picked up a cool ebook last night. This guy is concise, informative and humorous at the same time. A novelty in e-book instruction. Fixed layout books are heavy on hand coding and not for the novice ebook maker but they are very cool and can do things normal ebooks cant do such as layer text on top of an image, span a two page spread, display in landscape orientation to name a few. Well worth reading for any ebook maker.
Not every e-book is destined for greatness. Just as there are hits there are occasionally efforts that don't resonate as well with the buying public. E-book readers aren't indiscriminate buyers. They have their likes and their not-so-likes. Dave Blazek's book was a corporate project of a tech company's blog cartoons. A highly specific audience. It was supposed to be a vehicle to raise money for something or other project. I don't know if it raised much; I created it for a flat fee and did not handle the distribution. But I do know that a book's rank in the Kindle Top 100 is a very good indicator of an e-book's success. No. 1 is the best but there is another record milestone that is almost as impressive if not very profitable in the Top 100: no. 1,000,000! Keep pluggin', there's always the next e-book Dave! We're beginning work on an ebook by a new cartoonist to Fun-E-Books Publishing; namely, Mark Parisi of the syndicated comic panel 'Off the Mark'. A collection of his best cat cartoons. Cat cartoon books are always a sure fire best seller. Just take a look at the top 100 ebooks list on Amazon to get a confirmation on that! Garfield is literally littered all over that list.
